49 State Pier, New Bedford, Massachusetts, 02740, United States
State Pier sits at the bottom of Union Street in New Bedford and serves as one of the central hubs for cargo and passenger operations that complement the harbor’s role as the nation’s No. 1 commercial fishing port. The State Pier is a bulkheaded wharf of steel and stone construction with timber pile supported piers on three sides. Fast ferries to Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard depart from the pier in season, and boat tours of the Port of New Bedford leave from the neighboring pier.
